Top 3 of Each Event

Now instead of prioritizing all-around results and focus on increasing medal chances at the olympics and we look at the top three on every event we would have Simone Biles, Shilese Jones, Sunisa Lee, Trinity Thomas, Konnor McClain, Jade Carey, and Kaliya Lincoln in order of highest score. Konnor McClain will be removed from all further team score calculations due to her unfortunate injury at US Classics leaving her unable to compete any further this season. Now since the Olympic team only allows 5 members, we will also remove Kaliya Lincoln for having the lowest score out of all top 3 athletes. This leaves us with Simone Biles, Shilese Jones, Sunisa Lee, Trinity Thomas, and Jade Carey.

Now this team does score higher than the top 5 all-around team, mainly due to the higher beam score for the team.


Security in the Team

Now the above team score would be the same replacing Trinity Thomas with Jordan Chiles since the only counting score for a team final is on bars and they have the same score. Jordan Chiles has shown all four events unlike Trinity Thomas, has better scores on all other events at US Classic, and has more reputation in the recent elite gymnastics world. So personally I would take Jordan over Trinity at this point unless Trinity shows more at Championships and Trials.

Alternatives

Notably a team with Simone Biles, Shilese Jones, Sunisa Lee, Jade Carey and Leanne Wong scores a 173.70, three tenths higher than the 173.40 from the top 5 all-around team. Replacing Jade Carey with Jordan Chiles results in a 173.50.


2024 Olympic Team Based on US Classics

So based on the US Classic results alone my highest scoring team/chosen team would be Simone Biles, Shilese Jones, Sunisa Lee, Jordan Chiles, and Jade Carey. My alternates would be Trinity Thomas, Leanne Wong, and Skye Blakely.
